PianoNear Beta

Terms of service

Effective 23 September 2026

These terms govern use of PianoNear, a browser-based service for one-to-one piano lessons with video, audio and MIDI.

Operator and contact

PianoNear is operated by Michaël Petrov, an independent individual operator not registered as a company, of La Fontonne, 06600 Antibes, France. Contact us at support@pianonear.com.

The service

PianoNear lets a host create lesson invitations and lets guests join them. Hosts need a paid subscription; guests join by invitation without charge. Internet access, a compatible browser and any instruments or devices are your responsibility.

The service depends on browsers, networks and third-party providers. We do not promise uninterrupted, error-free, real-time or latency-free performance. PianoNear is for teaching and practice, not simultaneous networked performance. We may change, suspend or discontinue features where reasonably necessary.

Your responsibilities

Use the service lawfully and do not interfere with its security or other users. Do not share invitation links with people you do not intend to invite. You are responsible for obtaining any permissions needed to teach, communicate with, or share content with another participant.

Hosts must keep their account and billing details accurate. You must be at least 18 to buy a subscription. If a guest is under 18, their teacher or parent/guardian is responsible for ensuring they may use the service.

Subscriptions and payment

Subscription prices, billing interval and applicable taxes are shown before checkout. Payments, subscription renewals, invoices and payment methods are handled by Paddle, our merchant of record. Your subscription renews until cancelled unless the checkout says otherwise.

You can manage or cancel a subscription through the account page's billing portal. Cancellation stops future renewal; access remains available until the end of the paid billing period unless otherwise required by law. See the refund policy for withdrawal and refund rules.

Content, privacy and ending access

You keep rights in content you share, but grant the other lesson participant the limited right to receive it during the lesson. We do not provide server-side lesson recording. See the privacy notice for how the service processes personal data.

We may suspend or end access where reasonably necessary to protect the service, comply with law, or address a material breach of these terms. You may stop using PianoNear at any time.

Liability and law

Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect loss, loss of profit, loss of data, or loss caused by third-party networks, browsers or payment providers.

French law applies, subject to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence. Consumers may use any mandatory out-of-court complaint or dispute-resolution rights available to them. For questions or complaints, contact support@pianonear.com first.

We may update these terms when the service or law changes. The effective date above shows the current version.
